What is PlaX™?

PlaX™ is a next-generation plant-based material developed by Bioworks. It is made by combining biomass-based polylactic acid (PLA), derived from plants such as sugarcane, with a specially developed plant-derived additive using Bioworks' proprietary molecular design technology.

PlaX™ addresses some of the challenges that have limited the wider use of conventional PLA, including durability, heat resistance, and dyeability during fiber processing.

With its improved performance and plant-derived composition, PlaX™ is attracting global attention as a new material with the potential to replace petroleum-based synthetic fibers and plastic products across a wide range of applications, contributing to environmental solutions and a more sustainable circular economy.
